affordable camper van parking in Zagreb

affordable camper van parking in Zagreb

We spent one full month camping in our van in Zagreb. Apart from five nights in an Airbnb, the rest of the nights we spent camping in parking lots at Lake Jarun and in Zagreb’s city centre. Lake Jarun: van life paradise! The best place for parking our van was Lake Jarun. Lake Jarun is…

why we chose Croatia over the UK for van life

why we chose Croatia over the UK for van life

After staying in Dresden for a few days, we decided to skip travelling to the UK with our van. Instead, we headed south to sunny Croatia! We changed our plans for several reasons. Croatia has better weather and more sunshine. We both loved living in Scotland. Kuba lived there for almost ten years and I…

Sorry, Germany. You’re nice but we changed our minds!

Sorry, Germany. You’re nice but we changed our minds!

After visiting Prague, our plan was to venture into Germany as we made our way to the UK. That plan didn’t last long. We made it to Dresden, our first stop, and then changed our plans completely. Instead of continuing on toward the UK, we’d turn around and head south instead. The weather in southern…

Van-Living in Czechia’s Capital

So far, our van travels in Czechia have included two nights in Hradec Králové, a week in Olomouc, a week in Brno, and a night in Třebíč. Now, it’s time for the main event! Czechia’s capital and largest city: Prague! We spent three quick nights in Prague, camping in our van. This was my first…

Třebíč For The Night

Třebíč For The Night

Our next stop after our week in Brno was the town of Třebíč. We could have headed straight to Prague after Brno, but we figured why not spend a night in a smaller city for a change. Třebíč was halfway between Brno and Prague so it broke up the drive nicely. It was also recommended…

A Week in Brno: Van Living Tips

A Week in Brno: Van Living Tips

We spent one week boondocking aka stealth camping in Brno, the second largest city in Czechia. We loved Brno because of its chill vibes, green spaces, and friendly people. And best of all, we were never too far from vegan ice cream because Tutti Frutti vegan ice cream trucks were parked all over the city…

  • Happy New Year!
•
Thanks to Kuba for these photos from Marrakesh. 🇲🇦
•
I’ve been off social media for two weeks now and it feels great. Staying offline while visiting Morocco meant I had more time to focus on things that matter to me, more time to read, more time to enjoy life, and more time to focus on my passion: videography!
•
I’m going to keep this up for the next year. That means no Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or Tumblr. So once I post this, I’m signing off for a full year.
•
Over the next few weeks, I’ll share our Marrakesh adventures on my channel. My first episode will be public Friday Jan 4th (unless you’re a patron—episode 1 is already posted on my Patreon news feed).
•
And soon we’ll be in Greece and India for several weeks. I can’t wait to film it all!

  • Sometimes the sun comes out in Kraków. 😍 This sunset is from the other day. Seeing and feeling the sun on my skin makes me so happy. 🌅 I take a Vitamin D supplement but it isn’t the same as real sunshine. I’m ready for Marrakesh! 🌞❣️😎

  • Happy holidays from Kraków! 👋🎄😁 We don’t celebrate Christmas but we do have a little December getaway planned just so we can have a break from this grey, rainy and sometimes snowy weather. We’re looking forward to a Vitamin D boost! 😎☀️🇲🇦

  • Our grocery haul today minus the bread because we ate it on the way home. I had an olive ciabatta and @roaming_kuba had a seedy loaf. 🍞💪
•
The Lindt dark chocolate bar is for another batch of lentil brownies. 😜 We eat canned diced tomatoes 🇭🇷 almost every day in a veggie sauce with mushrooms, bell pepper, carrots, (and zucchini). We have onion every other day or so. We eat lots of bananas and apples every day so these won’t last long, probably two days! 🍎🍏🍌
•
Committing to plastic-free produce means we can’t always eat the fruit and veggies we want (like berries, grapes, celery, and even broccoli now...😢) because they come wrapped in plastic. That’s okay though!
•
We still have plenty of tasty options. 👍
•
My reusable cloth produce bags are from iHerb.com. If you use my discount code LIS5621, you’ll save 5% off your order. 😉

  • We hiked Trzy Korony yesterday. 👑👑👑 It was actually sunny at one point! The hike was pretty easy and picturesque through the snowy woods. We even had brownies at the top. 🍫🥰 A great day!!

We’re lucky to have several shops with bulk bins here in Kraków. Unfortunately, not all shops offer them. 😢
•
If you’re inspired to reduce your plastic waste but don’t have access to bulk bins, check out my latest blog post on vegannomadchick.com 😁 I offer five tips to help you cut back.
•
If you have any tips, I’d like to hear them too. Thank you!
