80/10/10

Weight gain on 80/10/10.

October 25, 2016 By vegannomadchick 7 Comments

Have you gained weight while eating a high fruit diet? Does this mean fruit is to blame? Or could your weight gain be caused by something else? Several vegans on social media have abandoned the 80/10/10 lifestyle because they claim it caused them to gain weight. This is ludicrous. You will not find a single…

My first week as a raw vegan

My first week as a raw vegan

My vegan diet has changed significantly since I first went vegan in 2008. (The evolution of my diet from this past year can be found in My diet is simple.) I tried a raw vegan diet briefly when I first went vegan but could never maintain it because I wasn’t eating enough calories. I was also…

What I eat in a day – Palma edition!

July 19, 2016 By vegannomadchick 17 Comments

I’ve mentioned on social media that my staples since arriving in Palma have been watermelon, cherries, and gluten-free pasta. Some days these are the only things I eat, but most days I eat these in addition to other foods, like grapes, orange juice, vegan ice cream, corn cakes, and hummus. And, of course, broccoli and…

  • see ya Berlin!! 👋 next stop: Reykjavik! 🇮🇸
  • On our way to the airport! 😎😎🚌 Today’s going to be a long travel day. Poznań ▶️ Berlin ▶️ Reykjavík ▶️ Chicago ▶️ Milwaukee 🇺🇸 I miss @roaming_kuba already!! 😿
  • My last day in Poznań means vegan ice cream again!! 😂 Marina Molecular Icecream had mango and hazelnut flavours today. Lucky us! 🍦 We also went to Costa too. What a treat! ☕️🍫😍
  • After 14 days of hard work, we are done with building our van! Now we just have finishing touches left (solar panels on the roof, Ikea decor 😅). @roaming_kuba will finish it up since I’m off to the States tomorrow! 😬 I’ll be there for a month, and once I return it will be van life 24/7. I can’t wait to start living in it full-time! You can watch each day of our van build in my daily vlogs on YouTube. 😉
  • We interrupt our van build to bring you this vegan decadence from Marina Molecular Ice Cream in Poznań! 😍😍 Today their vegan flavours were orange sorbet and peanut butter. You can even watch them make ice cream with liquid nitrogen as you wait in line. 😳 Pretty cool!! Thanks to @roaming_kuba ‘s friends Agata and Filip for sharing this place with us! It’s like a 5-minute walk from our flat, so we have to go back at least one more time before I leave on Thursday! 😂
  • Chillin’ in Poznań Old Town 🇵🇱
  • My feed is going to be saturated with orange by the time we’re done converting our van. 😂 Today was Day 6! We finished the wood panelling! 🛠 You can see our progress in our daily vlogs. 😉 In two weeks, I head to the States for a month. It will be my first time back in ~2.5 years!! 😳 So our goal is to have the van finished by then, or at least very close to being finished. It needs to be liveable so @roaming_kuba had a cosy place to stay while I’m away. 😅/😢
