Reflecting on 2018 + New Goals for 2019

Reflecting on 2018 + New Goals for 2019

Making goals and reflecting on my progress is important to me. It helps me grow and I wouldn’t be the person I am today if I didn’t push myself to achieve the impossible. I don’t always “win” when it comes to my goals because I purposely set the bar high. I’d rather do that, try…

No bulk bins? No problem! 5 tips for reducing plastic

Kuba and I are lucky to live in a city like Kraków. We have several options when it comes to buying dry goods without plastic so reducing our plastic waste is easy. Local shops and markets have bulk bins and even major supermarket chains have bulk bin sections. In a perfect world, all grocery stores…

Red Lentil Bolognese (oil-free!)

Every Tuesday on my YouTube channel I show you how to make a new vegan recipe in a series called Tasty Tuesday. In yesterday’s episode, I made lentil bolognese and it was absolutely delicious so I figured I’d share that recipe on the blog. 🙂 Bolognese for everyone! Bolognese sauce is typically meat-based but we…

Plastic-Free Breakfast For The Win!

Plastic-Free Breakfast For The Win!

I revamped my usual breakfast of oatmeal and coffee so now it’s plastic-free with minimal waste. You probably know this already, but cinnamon banana oatmeal is my favourite breakfast. I have it every day (when we’re not living in the van). I make it with oats, banana, and ground cinnamon and usually top it with…

What camera do I use? + all of our gear

I get lots of questions about my camera and vlogging gear so here’s a list of everything we use. If you click on an item and purchase it through Amazon or Xero Shoes we’ll get a small commission. These small commissions help us pay the bills so we can continue to make more videos. Thank…

The Start of Van Life

The Start of Van Life

Greetings from our van! I’ve been living in the van with Kuba for over a week now. It wasn’t that difficult to get used to, apart from struggling with my terrible seasonal allergies in Poland, but now everything is going smoothly. It didn’t seem that long ago that we first started building the van in…

  • Happy New Year!
•
Thanks to Kuba for these photos from Marrakesh. 🇲🇦
•
I’ve been off social media for two weeks now and it feels great. Staying offline while visiting Morocco meant I had more time to focus on things that matter to me, more time to read, more time to enjoy life, and more time to focus on my passion: videography!
•
I’m going to keep this up for the next year. That means no Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or Tumblr. So once I post this, I’m signing off for a full year.
•
Over the next few weeks, I’ll share our Marrakesh adventures on my channel. My first episode will be public Friday Jan 4th (unless you’re a patron—episode 1 is already posted on my Patreon news feed).
•
And soon we’ll be in Greece and India for several weeks. I can’t wait to film it all!
•

Thanks for your support!! See you in 2020. 😊

  • Sometimes the sun comes out in Kraków. 😍 This sunset is from the other day. Seeing and feeling the sun on my skin makes me so happy. 🌅 I take a Vitamin D supplement but it isn’t the same as real sunshine. I’m ready for Marrakesh! 🌞❣️😎

  • Happy holidays from Kraków! 👋🎄😁 We don’t celebrate Christmas but we do have a little December getaway planned just so we can have a break from this grey, rainy and sometimes snowy weather. We’re looking forward to a Vitamin D boost! 😎☀️🇲🇦

  • Our grocery haul today minus the bread because we ate it on the way home. I had an olive ciabatta and @roaming_kuba had a seedy loaf. 🍞💪
•
The Lindt dark chocolate bar is for another batch of lentil brownies. 😜 We eat canned diced tomatoes 🇭🇷 almost every day in a veggie sauce with mushrooms, bell pepper, carrots, (and zucchini). We have onion every other day or so. We eat lots of bananas and apples every day so these won’t last long, probably two days! 🍎🍏🍌
•
Committing to plastic-free produce means we can’t always eat the fruit and veggies we want (like berries, grapes, celery, and even broccoli now...😢) because they come wrapped in plastic. That’s okay though!
•
We still have plenty of tasty options. 👍
•
My reusable cloth produce bags are from iHerb.com. If you use my discount code LIS5621, you’ll save 5% off your order. 😉

  • We hiked Trzy Korony yesterday. 👑👑👑 It was actually sunny at one point! The hike was pretty easy and picturesque through the snowy woods. We even had brownies at the top. 🍫🥰 A great day!!

  • Today’s breakfast: cinnamon banana oatmeal topped with persimmon, kiwi and cornflakes plus black coffee. All plastic-free! 🌳
•
We’re lucky to have several shops with bulk bins here in Kraków. Unfortunately, not all shops offer them. 😢
•
If you’re inspired to reduce your plastic waste but don’t have access to bulk bins, check out my latest blog post on vegannomadchick.com 😁 I offer five tips to help you cut back.
•
If you have any tips, I’d like to hear them too. Thank you!
