I’ve struggled with terrible acne since I was a teenager. I don’t even have photo evidence of how bad it was because it was so painful to even look at them! I’ve tried countless treatments, over-the-counter and prescription medication, Accutane twice, nutritional supplements, and dietary changes (like going vegan) but nothing helped my skin!
My solution for clear skin: quitting all cosmetics and skincare products in addition to eliminating fats from my diet. It did take time for my skin to clear up and I still break out from time to time (especially when I eat fatty foods like hummus!) but overall my skin has never been better.
If you suffer from acne, try eating high carb low fat for a few months and really focus on keeping your fat intake to a minimum. Track everything you eat in Cronometer to ensure you don’t exceed 10% of your daily calories in fat. Pack in the fresh fruit and veg, drink lots of water, avoid all processed foods, caffeine, and alcohol. Quit using all skincare products and cosmetics and see how your skin responds in a month or two. Have patience because it will take your skin a few weeks to regenerate, so you might not notice a significant change until then.
