After the most amazing weekend, I’m taking off this week!

This past weekend with my boyfriend was amazing! Split was a completely different place to me this weekend. Before Kuba arrived, I had wandered around Split and wasn’t that interested in taking photos or walking about. That wasn’t the case this weekend. Having him by my side changed everything!

I’ve been counting down the days ever since I left him in Scotland this past May. We spent two weeks together in Poland with his family and then waited six long weeks before we saw each other in Paris for one day. I was so sad to say goodbye to him after only 24 hours!

That was five weeks ago. Every day I thank the universe for putting me in the right place at the right time to meet him back in Scotland. It’s fascinating (and a bit troubling) to think if one little piece of my past differed, would I have ended up in the same place at the same time? What if I never went vegan eight years ago? What if I didn’t quit my job? What if I had purchased a one-way ticket to Berlin instead of the UK?

Everything in my life happened for a reason: all the ‘mistakes’ I’ve made, stressful situations I’ve endured, all the failed relationships and poor judgement on my part. Negotiating my way through these learning opportunities made me into the person I am today. I don’t regret any of it.

I’m so lucky to have met Kuba when I did! ❤️ Thanks to him for this photo. I love it!

Check out my gallery for the rest of my photos from Split.

This weekend was the perfect boost to my mood but I need some more time off. I’ve been spending too much time on my laptop lately, so I’m taking a break from this blog and my YouTube channel this week. My next post will be this coming Monday. By that point, I will be settled in my new flat on the island of Korčula. Wish me luck that I survive the ferry ride over! I hope you have a great week and as always, thank you for reading my blog!

  1. Great article! I’ve been enjoying your Croatia posts because I am going there in a few weeks (end of October). I’m hoping the weather holds. I am mostly going to visit wineries (we live in Napa Valley, California and that’s our business) but reading posts like yours convinced me we need to stay longer and do more things! Thanks for sharing! You may enjoy our wine country blog about life back home: Follow us if you like what you see.
