Auf Wiedersehen Berlin!

Tomorrow I start the next leg of my Euro trip with an early morning train to Poznań, Poland. My bag is mostly packed (not that it takes me long to pack anyway since everything fits into one bag!), my train ticket printed, and I’m fully stocked up on grapes, date rolls, and a smoothie for the 3-hour train ride tomorrow.

The view from Warschauer Straße station. Tomorrow morning I have a short train ride from this station to Berlin’s central station, Hauptbahnhof. From there, I’ll be on my way to Poland!

I can’t believe this day has finally arrived! It’s been just under three weeks since I left Scotland and I’ve missed my boyfriend and my friends every second. When I first arrived in Berlin, I’d count down the days until I’d see my boyfriend again. I wasn’t sure if could manage being apart for three weeks, but now I have just 12 hours until I’m reunited with him in Poland. A mere 12 hours! I honestly doubt that I’ll be able to sleep tonight!

So for the next two weeks, I won’t be posting daily on this blog. I may post updates on Instagram and Facebook from time to time (once I have my phone sorted), but I’m hoping to be ‘off the grid’ as much as possible. This will be a much-needed blogging holiday!

As I’ve mentioned in a previous post, Berlin doesn’t seem like a good fit for me but I’m still grateful for everything that has happened in the past few weeks (including my phone getting stolen) because I’ve learned so much about myself. Even the most formidable clouds have silver linings.

I’m glad I was able to visit Berlin and fortunate for all the connections I’ve made. My hosts were incredibly gracious, accommodating, and lucky for me, vegan! I’m so lucky to have met them through Instagram. (Some people hate on social media but, in my opinion, it’s the best way to network, especially when it comes to meeting other like-minded vegans.) I also made a new friend through, so come to find out I can have good experiences using that site. We’re even planning on meeting up elsewhere in Europe, perhaps in Barcelona or Paris. I can’t wait!

I’m not completely finished with Berlin as I’ll be back for a second round from July 1-6. This time I’ll have a flat to myself and a shiny new phone, so I hope to venture out into previously unexplored parts of the city as I still have several sights to see on my Berlin to-do list.

Thanks for reading my blog and for your comments. I appreciate each one! Daily blog posts will begin no later than July 1st, so please check back. Until then, tschüss!
